the winshield washer problem is definitely a diy project of 15-20 mins.
the 'soundproofing' insulation can easily be peeled pack to expose the washer tubings once the hood is raised. you'll run into a 't' shaped valve or two--remove and replace them. the filter or diaphram inside often gets clogged from crap in the washer fluid.
my dealer ripped me off by charging $8 for each--well worth it though for new england winters.
as far as the passenger seat goes, check the fuses, relays etc. to make sure they're intact. if they are, CLEAN as best you can, under the seat after unplugging any connections.--probably some dirt under the chair.
the groaning noise sounds interesting-reminds me of an ex-girlfriend in college but thats a story for another time--i think as long as that noise lasts for only a few seconds its fine-mine makes noise like that too when i engage the acc. does it blow cold? and strong? if so--you just have to 'deal' with that little quirk.
good luck
