about to order FPR, but need some info first....

Hi guys,
I've included a link to my earlier post on the subject, which Dean was kind enough to reply to.
Anyhow, I'm ready to place the order for the fuel pump regulator on Eeuroparts but have a few questions:
1. Can I be sure its the FPR? Even after sitting warm for even half an hour, the car will initially start, then die, and then I need to crank for about 10-15 seconds straight to get it going again, at which point I need to rev it before idle is regular. On the road, I can't accelerate aggresively at all. The engine will hit resistance at around 3500 rpm, and kind of buckles a little bit. At cruising speeds, power is definitely not what it used to be, especially when passing.
I'm just open to other alternatives if it may not be the FPR. Its not the fuel pump (just had it replaced), and I don't think this behavior is consistent with a kinked fuel line.
2. There are two FPRs on the eeuroparts web site. I'm not sure which one I should be ordering. The car is a 1997 900 SE.
As usual, any help is appreciated.
Thx.
