As I understand it... as the air attempts to enter the engine through the alum. tubing, the smooth airflow hits the 'wall' aroudn the edge of the TBTC. This disrupts the smooth airflow.
As the blunt/squared off edge is tapered back with the dremmel air can move into the engine cleaner.
