People have been expressing desire to see more positive posts on this BB lately, and my loved ones have been expressing desire for me to shut up about my car, so here goes:

I love my car, okay? It is a 1995 900S. I've had it 14 months, it is my second Saab. I've put 51,000 highway miles and it's the best commuter car in the world. It is a Cirrus white (best NG900 color for sure) 3-door with grey cloth. Pretty much a base model; 5 speed tranny, cloth seats, and my sunroof isn't factory (I don't mind though, because it was professionally installed by ASC, the company that worked with Saab on the original 900TC, so it's true to Saab heritage). The steel wheels are cheap and ride smooth. When winter hits, I take off the front wheel covers (mainly to excuse the mud on my car by showing I use chains and thus live in the mountains), which looks really cool in a utilitarian way. I just installed OSRAM silverstar bulbs along with Philips Bluevision bulbs in the "city light" socket. The bluevisions don't lessen output quality, because their purpose is visibility, not illumination, and when the lights are off (my DRLs are disabled), they add a cool bluish tint to the lights when viewed from outside. I have the factory roof rack, with Yakima copperhead bike mounts for my other trusty means of transportation. A whistler radar detector cleanly installed above my rear view mirror and hardwired into my fusebox tells me when I'm approaching a Wal-Mart (anyone with a radar detector will understand), and a scanner clipped to the glove box door keeps me updated as to the condition of the road ahead on foggy days. My trunk contains the traditional Saab toolkit and spare plus: a pack of flares, jumper cables, water, cable chains, a blanket (USMC poncho liner), first aid kit (donated by a Nissan XTerra), a full set of allen wrenches, a rain jacket, a sweater, all my school stuff and of course a Clarion CD changer. My heated seats work and are much appreciated. The next upgrades I hope to do are: E-code headlights, rear swaybar, and new wheels (still black steel, but new shiny ones so I can lose the covers for good).

This car is perfect for me, through and through. It is always there for me. I have never been stranded by a Saab, except after a high-speed accident, which was handled with aplomb, thank you very much. Don't listen to the guys who don't know what they're talking about. I've heard everything from "Saabs have rotary engines," to "they have no belts, the AC runs off vacuum." Listen to someone who's had Saabs most of his driving life. They are bulletproof, they are safe, and they are totally rockin' cool.
