They might mean the EVAP purge valve for the fuel vapor Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Wed, 10 Dec 2003 08:43:48 In Reply to: Need help locating purge valve hose..., Gabor, Wed, 10 Dec 2003 08:20:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
recovery system.
If they only did the suggestion of a cracked hose by looking at a fault code logged in the cars computer (did the check engine light come on?) it might be something else going on with that system.
The EVAP charcoal canister is located at the back of the fuel tank on your car, and it is a line/hose running from there to the EVAP valve on right inner fender and to the intake manifold.
Start by removing the black plastic cover over engine and check all vacuum hoses that you see going into the intake manifold. If you don't see any obvious broken ones or dislodged, the problem might lie elsewhere in a bad purge valve for example.
