(as otheres have said, it would be in inline 4)
I went with NA (no turbo) 4. I didn't really need the power of the turbo, and certainly didn't need the extra expense and hassle. The NA 4 has pleanty of power for 'normal' use. Yeah, it won't pass as quickly, and if you like to really go fast, it won't be as good.
But I even have the auto in my NA 4, and it still has at leat as much poop as the old 900 8 valve turbos- I think more.
The manual have better power, but the car I found was an auto. I originally didn't want an auto, but after driving it, decieded it would be fine for what I plan to use the car for. Plus in traffic the auto is great!
I'm no looking for a performance car in any SAAB. For handling, I have owned a bunch of Lotuses, and they make any SAAB feel like a boat! Plus pleanty of power (and better mileage in the Europa, 50+).
For a daily driver, lots of room, decent handling, acceptable power and acceptable MPG (I'm gettting about 32mpg on mixed highway), plus lots of room and comfort...it is a great car.
(the 97 900 5 door I bought only had 53k miles, in mint condition)
