That makes sense to me. Backing into my driveway last night I backed over a lump of melting snow which I shoveled out from behind the car last week. It is likely that could have bent the heat shield as I was backing over that crunchy snow pile.
I'm fairly familiar with the car but not with the heat shield. Is it below the cat/muffler, or above them (between them and the car's underbody?
