Rain X question

Hi All,
Anyone have this problem? I don't know for sure that it is related to the use of rain x, however. I applied rain x back in say, november or december on a warm day. It has worn off by now. Recently, after driving in the rain, I noticed thousands or short scratches in the windshield. It was very annoying, and distracted me from the road. I cleaned the windshield at a gas station with one of those squeegee (sp?) sponge things, and it seemed to clear up quite a bit. At first I thought it might have been from scraping winter ice, but then I thought maybe it was just scratches in the rain x film, and not the windshield. To my knowledge, I've never scratched a windshield from scraping.
I like using rainx, but I know some people don't. I think it helps visisbility in the rain, and gets the water off more efficiently.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Brian
