wax on black trim, I don't see it + stongard

I waxed my 03 Aero Wagon, steel grey, for the first time a couple of days ago. I was careful not to get wax on the trim but not to any extremes. I don't see any. (I used the clay bar, speed shine and best in show wax.) Is this wax perhaps not as much of a problem with black trim as other waxes? Or will these spots of wax show up days later? Perhaps this was does not have any solid cleaners or polishers in it that would leave a power residue.
One comment on the clay bar. It is quite sticky, just my first time obervation. It flattens out quite easily as it is used, I expected something stiffer. It does work nicely. It was easy as there was very little crud to 'cut' off of the paint. One issue, is stongard. I have the full kit. The edge of the stongard does cut into the clay bar and you get yellow clay caked into that edge. I did say that it was sticky didn't I? I used an old soft toothbrush with speed shine, with the bristles mostly flat against the paint and the ends of the bristles working against the edge of the stngard. But that was a pain, as everthing else went well.
The stongard can be clay barred and waxed just as the paint. Watch those edges!
Any point in waxing the door frames etc. Does that help with keeping them cleaner over time. Obviously these areas don't get UV exposure.
It used to be that tail light lenses had part numbers and spec's molded into the surface. Now they are smooth all over. So these can be clay barred and waxed with the paint.
If you get the Griot's cotton clothes for buffing, they suck. They have a heavy amount of 'sizing' on when new and are not soft. After washing in hot water with 3X detergent they are still not soft. I think that they are not checking what their supplier is sending them. The large red wax applicator is nice for hood, and for the roof of a sedan, but everywhere else you have window trim, roof bars, door handles, belt line trim etc and that red pad is really a waste of time, so don't bother with that. The white applicator pads with square edges will do the whole job.
