I just got off the phone with the local tire shop. Its time to switch back to summer tires and I wanted a quote to swap 4 tires (I'm using the same wheels, so the old ones must be removed, and the new ones installed)
The guy at the shop is telling me:

$14/tire install
$15/tire balance (high speed balance, plastic coated weights)
$10 patch one tire.

for a total of $126 (Canadian)

This seems a bit excessive to me- I was expecting to pay about half that, but I haven't paid to have tires swapped for a number of years. Is this a fair price these days? I expected to pay a bit more as they've got to deal with 17" alloys with 45 series tires, but do you think he's trying to rip me off because I've got an expensive car?
