I was going to post a question about tire rotation this morning! Incidentally, I read the exact same pamphlet while I waited for them to put my summer tires on the wheels yesterday...
According to the pamphlet, on a FWD car one should rotate the tires by moving the front ones straight back, and moving the rears to the opposite front corner. This is the way I've always done it, but according to the guy who owns the tire shop I was at I should simply move front to back, keeping the tires on the same side of the car (ie LH rear moves to LH front, and LH front moves to LH rear) He is saying that with radial tires, if you switch the rotating direction you'll get something called "radial pull" which I've never heard of- or experienced. I thought the days of keeping the tires rotating the same direction went out with bias-ply tires.
What is the correct procedure? What is "radial pull"
Thanks for the help,
Brad
