...say that the 9-8 in the works is going to be killer. While the car hasn't been confirmed, there is definitely work being done in regards to design. I hope that the final product gets the green light from the General. I hear that a lot of time and effort is going into the interior to make it a true Saab.
Also, look in Popular Mechanics (I think that it is Popular Mechanics) this month at the forced induction article. GM has built and is testing a Twin Turbo Charged version of the 4.2 I6 engine from the Trailblazer/Envoy Drivetrain. GM claims 400 hp. The secondary engine looks to be a 315hp turbocharged 5cyl. I'm not sure what other vehicles that the powerplant might end up in, given that it isn;t cost effective to build such an engine for Saab alone.
Of course, the engine specs I gathered from the magazine, not from some secret source, nor was the vehicle application specifically mentioned in the acticle. I'm just marveling at the sheer coincidence of the two.
I'm looking forward to the 9-8.
