In T2, the guy that works for cyberdyne that makes the discovery is heavily wounded near the end of the movie, and sets the bomb off that destroys the whole floor of the building.
Also, all things relating to the terminator were destroyed at the end. First the T1000 fell into that molten pit of metal, then the arm/broken chip that they stole from Cyberdyne was thrown in (both of which were used to make the important discovery by the guy above who's since died) .. and then the Terminator itself (Arnie) goes into the molten metal bath.
Everything has been destoryed ... The parts from 1984 (arm / chip) are destroyed and so is the researcher from cyberdyne. Because of that, he won't make his revolutionary discovery in a few years time (according to the movie -- I think it was 3 or 4 they said in the movie?) that then leads to the creation of SkyNet. No SkyNet, no Terminators.
There's a serious timeline issue happening :) (and I think that's one of the reasons that James Cameron / Linda Hamilton aren't apart of the movie)
