My native home is Everett ( duh!), a mere 30 miles south of Bellingham, and I am able to get the easier more generic German/Swede type repairs done for reasonable cost at Everett's Conaway Motors, a small but excellent family independent shop at 52nd & Colby Avenue. For the specialized info, repairs and parts my SPG deserves, however, I do rely on the fellers at SCANWEST.
That is a Looong Haul from Bellingham, since I-5 has become totally filled mit traffic all hours of the day seven days/week practically from Vancouver, BC, to Portland, Orygun. There was once a Saab Dealer in Bellingham, anyone up there know if it is kaput now? Wish I could recall their name. Gotta be someone good on Saabs thereabouts.
Since I am so close to Bellingham, and just for your aunt Ravi, I will do some research for either a dealer or an independent for her Saab in her town. She doesn't want the border hassle just for small jobs, right? Bellingham is a major college town with lots of kulture, music, food, ancient hippies, etc - kind if a mini-Berkeley - can you picture that scene minus V-dubs and Saabs and Volvos? I can't. Stay tuned.
