The magnetic plug is usually the drain, isn't it? How did they show that to you unless they had already drained the fluid? Now that it's drained, did they put the oil back in?? That wouldn't be good...
I'd change it now. Especially if they drained it & put it back in. Since you're going to your indy at 30k, just tell him what you did at 25k. Or maybe you're gonna go to him now to change it, then just remind him at 30k.
Back in the '80s Saab said you should NEVER change the C900 manual transmission fluid. Only check it & add a little if needed. Those of us who changed it regularly somehow avoided destroying our pinion gears...
