for them to see the benefits of AWD. I mean it's 2003 and it's still going to be at least a few years until we see a 9-3 or even 9-5 AWD wagon (or even a hatch).
Saab was so far ahead of the game for so long by using FWD well before almost anyone else, but they really dropped the ball by missing out on the AWD. And they were ahead of the game with turbo. But somehow missed out on the AWD. Couldn't they have seen it coming with Audi's quattro way back in the early 80's? Especially for a company that prides itself on safety and bad weather capabilities.
Just plain disappointing that they couldn't have been more forward thinking in the area of AWD after such an impressive history of forward thinking in so many areas--particularly safety and functionality related.
