"Aero wagon"
Tons of fun to drive, and bikes go nicely on the roof without having to lift them to the top of an SUV. My girlfriend and I go camping and mountain biking all the time with no space issues for the gear. My mother-in-common-law has a Forester (bought with my advice, tried unsucessfully talk her into a 9-3 though) and I think my wagon has more cargo space. Its definitely more comfortable.
Fold the back seat down and your dog will think he's got a condo of his own!
What better vehicle to haul stuff back from IKEA than a classy swedish wagon?
Of course, those two words might also very well be "turbo forester" which can be had with leather seats albeit not Saab sport seats. Faster off the line than an Aero wagon, and AWD for people who think that sort of thing is important.
Make him test drive the Aero... he'll forget about that Subaru pretty quick!
