the prior version, it is still understated but with very clean lines.
Audi tends to follow the same shape and outline for all their cars, from the A4, A6, and A8 in North America. The prior A8 is a very old design, I think it dates back to mid-90s. The new A8 looks like the new A4, just stretch each dimenision a bit and you get the A8. I would expect the new A6 to look like a scaled down A8, halfway between the A4 and A8.
