size on any car. If a car *NEEDS* that size spoiler it means the exterior of the car isn't properly sorted out or at least not at high speed (say 100+MPH range).
If one looks at any sedan that is capable of doing 130+ range, as in the E55, M5, S55 and our humble Saab Aero. They can do 120MPH and up and they are quite stable at that speed. None of these cars need any special spoilers to keep them stable.
It was a really windy day in the northeast yesterday, I was doing about 80+ on stretches of an interstate, yes, the wind was howling, I could feel the car meandered a bit with wind gusts but it (a 9000 Aero) was quite stable. Along side me was a current generation M5, the driver was probably cautious as well, we stayed with each other at about the same speed. I was pretty sure the M5 can out run me with plenty to spare and I see no meandering on his part due to strong wind and speed.
