The light dusting of snow this morning that looked so harmless and pretty was actually covering a very treacherous layer of slick black ice. The Aero has these fancy shmancy high performance tires (ZR something) that I understand are definitely not recommended for snowy/icy conditions (so I got a ride to work from my husband, whose Volvo station wagon handled beautifully). I have been meaning to get a set of winter tires; I guess I shouldn't wait any longer. My fear is that because I don't know that much about tires, some salesman might try to take advantage of my ignorance. For example, do I need new rims also? This could get very expensive. I'm prepared to spend what is necessary to be safe but I am not interested in being screwed into buying something I don't need. Can any of you Boston-area Saabers recommend a good tire shop with low-pressure, friendly salespeople?
Thanks & drive safely :)
