I love to sleep late, but when I'm on a construction site, 7AM is the typical time work begins. There's a shop here in California that will begin its shift at 6AM.
I'm a night owl and those hours kill me when I need to be there. Luckily I don't have to do this every work day, only part of the year.
All that said, it's quite annoying when this kind of noise is in a residential area at those hours. Jackhammers outside your window at 7AM is annoying... The real slap in the face in your case is that it only took a short while.
