Looking to purchase a decent corded power hand drill. There are tons of options. I'd like one with a keyed chuck and enough ommph to drive a 2 1/4" Forsner bit 4" through solid stock(wood). The keyed chuck is important due to the fact I can never get the large forsner bit to stay put in a keyless chuck. I want enough amps to drive this bit without problem. I don't want to spend a ton on it. There are 5 amp drills for $50, 6 amps for $60 and a 5amp hammer drill(with regular drill option for about the same $. I had originally bought a 9" drill press 1/3 hp specifically for this project but took it back as it couldn't drive the bit. The motor would stop dead in its track. Would love a nice large drill press, but just don't have the $ for that right now. There is a 7.8 amp one but way too much $ right now(159.00)
Anyone have experience with these drills? Recommendations?
BTW- These are all craftsman brand stated above.
