Double bonus, vacation and a new car!... Unfortunately no Saab leasing or financing is availible on european delivery. I have heard too that Saab Financial will be loosening up soon. It's tough for US lenders to loan money on a car that will be overseas for 8-12 weeks after you drop it off from your vacation. You'll also be making payments on it while you don't have it. You'll need a good relationship with your bank or credit union to obtain financing. European deliveries have to be paid in full 30 days before delivery.
The $2,000 is paid back to you approximately two weeks before pick-up and approximately two weeks after the cars has been paid for.
Two of the most memorable things you can do, a european vacation and a new car, can be combined with tourist delivery. As there are extensive US only incentives stateside the european delivery price won't be that big of a bargain on a 9-5 wagon, if any, over a stateside delivery. The reason for doing it is still valid though, and that's not having to rent a car and being able to sample your car on european roads and autobahns.
It's a beautiful drive from Trollhattan, past Gothenburg, down through Malmo and across the bridge onto the continent at Copenahagen. From there Germany's real close. We found Gothenburg fascintating and one of the more recent tourist delivery folks had to stay in Gothenburg instead of at Ronnum Manor near Trollhattan which is actually a bonus as the Hotel Eggers in Gothenburg (only 40 minutes from Trollhattan) is very special.
Do take the factory tour and visit the museum. Just down the road 1km from the museum are the shipping locks in Trollhattan, quite interesting.
