Looks like DonE isn`t the only vehicle accident reconstructionist on the board!
I too drive Saab`s, so far I am on #4 (1976 99GL, 1995 900S, 2000 9-3 5spd, current 1999 9-5 SW).
I like the safety aspects, although no car will ever save you bacon completely in an accident, there are lots of minor things, such as the head restraint design, the side airbags, the crush zones and so on that are laid out intelligently, and with style. Volvo is also okay (my brother drives an S70).
I like the performance and the all round fuel consumption.
Probably some things I haven`t thought about, but that would be it generally.
By the way, we only get involved in the heavy duty crashes, and truth is stranger than fiction. Rollovers are a big issue for insurance companies, and SUVs are not my personal favourite, and I am appalled that SAAB will be offering one based on a Chevrolet. You still can`t drive a truck like a car!
