IT'S NASTY.
I had to use a hammer to drive the engine valves out of their guides and they had a layer of glazed suger on them.
Top of piston looked like someone had poured molten glass on.
I didn't see this particular episod of Mythbusters, did they shut down the car and let it sit overnight? Maybe it works as long as you don't let it cool down and the sugar hardens.
Have you melted sugar in a frying pan and let it cool down? Pretty rock hard substance you get there.
