Modern electronic intensive cars seem to have exceeded the capacity and reliability of lead acid batteries. From Porsche to Saab and everyone else too, batteries have become perhaps the weakest link in the reliability chain.
I wonder why auto makers haven't gone to better batteries, something other than lead acid. And many transportation devices that have to start have back up or dual battery systems, why not cars?
