There's airheads and oil heads and I'm an oilhead. So don't ever take me too seriously. I'm referring to my BMW R1100RT, no cooled with oil as well as air. The older boxers are all air, not that they don't have oil in 'em.
Do the 911's, even the water cooled ones, still have the big umpteen quart dry sump oil reservior like my '72 911T had. For perspective it was mechanically fuel injected, had a whopping 125hp, fast for it's time, got high teens for fuel economy.
BTW 73's went to the black bumper snouts, no chrome bumper "accent" guards, that's how you tell the years. Bumper trim was aluminum, all this without consulting a picture, my memory is purfect (ly shot).
