That sounds like really poor customer service on the dealer's part.
I bought a CPO 9-3 at a dealer quite a distance from my house. When I bought the car I noticed that the plastic mud guard on the bottom of the car (under the engine) was craked and part of it was hanging down slightly. I'd forgotten to mention this as my mind was tied up with the wheeling and dealing to buy the car.
A few weeks later I took the car to the dealer closer to my house to fix a few things which were covered under CPO, but I asked about the mud guard. They told me that it's not covered and that I should have mentioned it to the dealer I bought the car from when I bought it. I also wanted the "chirp" turned-off (when I locked the doors it chirped twice, when unlocked it chirped twice, when locking the trunk it chirped three times - ANNOYING!). They told me that it's not covered under CPO and that they'd have to charge me $42 to hook up the Tech II device to change the settings. I should have also gone over this with the dealer I was buying it from originally.
My point being that oftentimes it seems one dealer doesn't want to help you as much if you bought the car from another dealer. I think Saab really needs to reign this sort of thing in and it comes off as poor customer service.
