700 feet is the farthest successfully reported connection so far. This is the same guy who used to work for SRI who came over with an ancient signal generator and did some amazing math to figure out the glaring loss on the longer cable I was using and that the current set up should cover an 1,800 foot diameter (*I inserted line of sight stuff here just so I could at least participate in the conversation)... anyway, I'll let ya know. It's more of a fun project than a practical one. Just setting up the antenna on a 12 foot pole (which already had my wind meter mounted on it) was interesting too...
