New car scent vs double classic with cheese

You don't notice it at first but once you start to eat in your car and leave trash and/or containers overnight the vehicle starts to perma-stink irrespective of how many interior washes were done.
As such, I've instituted (and effectively self imposed) a no-food rule as a part of my reign of terror. Just last week I banned a small child (arms crossed standing over the little guy and all) from entering the land craft with ice-cream-paws. Then I flogged him, well no..not really...
Unfortunately, I too must now consume my mainstay, a large Iced Coffee with a lot of milk and one sugar, on the hot bench/curb at the local Dunkin Donuts while sweating profusely.
How long do you think I can keep this up? You guys (and girls) eat in the car or is that something that should be avoided if possible?
When I took delivery of this detailed 2003 Aero it smelled great! A very rich, almost musky, leather/wood/plastic scent. Not the same plasticy/rubbery scent as a new Legacy I recently sat in for example, but a new car smell with an overriding leather tone. Since then, over the course of a month, the smell gets less and less pronounced upon entering the cabin. Any ideas what the detailer used to make this 03 65K mile vehicle smell showroom/leather new?
I noticed Griots has a leather scent that you spray under the seats...is this what I am looking for? does anyone know what the detailers use?
Thanks (again),
Tom
