In my late twentys I was living an Edinburgh and doing design work for various edinburgh festivals. I was asked by the Science festival to design and build a couple of props for a big press party a week away, it turned out that myself and my girl friend worked exactly 60 hours to complete the work without sleep. We found that by keeping the curtains closed even throughout the day, eating plenty of noodles and snacks and keeping the music going was the way to go! At one point with the dead line just a few hours away I blanked out while hand painting a fine line, I awoke a few minutes later too discover that I had continued to follow the line while on my 'time out'! Also the 5-6am slot I found to be the most arduous especially hating the songs of the awakaning birds!
A doctor friend pointed out that not sleeping for long periods of time becomes damaging to your health because the body stays awake by producing adrenaline.
