Careers require frequent changes. Corporations no longer offer loyalty to their employees. Corps with foreign competition are in big trouble if they offer medical care since the foreign corps are in industrialized economies where health care is unrelated to the employer; that is, if there is any at all in places like China. Look at GM, for instance being hoisted on the petard of retiree and current employee health care costs. It really all is an accident of history and WWII price and wage controls that this only country insures current employees and portions of retiree families, sometimes that is. E.g, teacher retirees around here get care for themselves, for life, but not for spouses. So, if self insured, how many heart transplants, bypasses, etc. does it take to skew the curve? Or, will older workers be dumped by the corporate employer so younger ones get eyeglasses every time they blink? Walmart's recently leaked documents on this topic reveal just such concerns and cost cutting schemes flying around the board room.

Time for a fundamental change folks.
Just my 2 cents.
