Anyone ever use a company called Autoloss or something similar? They are on the net. For $340 they appraise car and negotiate with my Insurance company appraiser. My '91 9000 CD was totaled while parked. Driver had no insurance. Car in top shape. Engine timing chain and gears replaced, new a/c, new tires and brakes and mufflers. Everything worked. I got insurance Co to go fron 2250 to about 2550. Some will say that is high enough. It should be higher based on what is for sale in the market. They use a computer program called CCC to set these vaules and it is biased in their favor. I think it is bogus in that they had to find some used car dealer to say would sell it on his lot for $1000-S1500 and dig out an ad from a little town paper 400 miles away with no information about the car. The ones for sale that start and run range from $2000 to $5500. I don't want to discuss the value or whose right. I want to know whether these appraisers are worth the money. My policy says that dueling appraisalS is my next step. If they can't agree we find a third and split the cost. Don't think it will come to that. All I want is to break even on the $340 .Then it is worth it. I am original owner with 80 pages of receipts, etc. Thanks for listening.
