Considering how you feel about your car I think you should do everything possible to keep it regardless of the practical considerations. Driving it once or twice a month will be more than adequate to keep it in good condition epecially if it's garaged. As a former dealer (until recently) who specialized in old European cars I follow prices very closely. Classic Saabs are getting more and more rare and seem to be gaining popularity. They've already bottomed out value wise and are slowly gaining. Pre-900 Saabs are bringing amazing money conpared to a few years ago, 900s will follow. They'll never quite be a '55 T-Bird, but if you simply want to have one, now is the time to buy one and hang onto it.
