My Dad, who served as an electrician in the RCAF, said to me that the Robertson screws were the best invention ever. You could hold the screw on the end of the driver bit, which was really useful if you could only reach the spot with one hand (always the wrong one), while you were hanging upside down.
You could always get enough torque to drive them. If you dropped a screw on a plane, it stayed grounded until you found it, so Robertson's invention was a godsend for electricians.
