I like Zoner (http://www.zoner.com). It's not free but I believe well worth the money. I researched about 20 packages to put on my Dad's computer for his use. He must have about 15,000 images and management of them got really burdensome. Input from the camera, rename them, create a useful folder for them and then move them. do the white balance thing for inside shots, gee, would be nice to be able to do the WB in bulk. Crop and email to his buddies ad hoc. Too much work for Dad so I get involved. Needed to do better work flow and automation too.
The more things I tried to do in Zoner, the more things I found it does.
It's really a single cockpit and one size fits all package. No, I don't own it or have stock in the company.
It does the usual things, crop, enhance (auto white balance, color, brighten), input from a source (camera etc), and it does the unusual, bulk rename with a variable (number and others), email (ever try to find that picture you want to email in the email program?), burn CD's, burn standalone CD's that contain the slide show controls. One of the nice things is it will put the enhanced image back in the same file if you allow. other packages want a new name and need too many strokes to perform an operation.
It's interface is a windows like file manager drag and drop with multiple windows, preview windows, and you can create multiple view type and switch between them.
You can do all of the above and never leave the program, including email.
They have 30day download that is full featured, ie not limited and does everything the licensed version does (in fact if you down and decide you pay for a key and enable the one on your computer and continue, standard stuff with most try and buy - except this is not limited in funciton).
We must have 10 licenses by now, everyone that sees it buys it. Wish I did have stock in the company... :)
