Saabs, pickup trucks....and snow

Had a couple inches of snow here today in S. NH and I was going to a friend's house near the top of a long (1/2 mile), steepish hill. About 200 feet up is a nearly new Ford F-150, flashers on, and a trail of skid marks in snow of the unsanded road. He had clearly tried hard to get to where he was and couldn't make it any further. Even with those big chunky-treaded tires. The cab was empty and I figured the guy walked up the hill, possibly to his house.
My 9K, shod with 4 half worn snows eased by him without any spinning, going straight up past the skid marks of 3 other cars that had attempted the hill and barely made it, their trails weaving back and forth, the full width of the road.
Of course, unloaded pick-ups have terrible traction in slick conditions, and I know any decent FWD car with snows could do this, but is was just satisfying.
