...I would call the local government and see who recycles old computers. Please don't throw it in the trash, as that is bad for the environment.
Not really anything you can salvage. It doesn't even use USB I technology.
The hard drive will be small, so maybe not worth it for MP3. You can pull the hard drive, change the jumper to make it into a slave, and plug it into another PC as alternate storage. It is so old though that I doubt it is even 5 gig.
I am not even sure if you can re-use the case. I believe the case is also too antiquated to fit a modern motherboard.
Honestly, Craig's lists is a great place for stuff like this.
