Tested in beginning of tenth grade with an IQ of low 150s. School wasnt the challenge for me it was not being bored in school. No challenge means no exertion on my part. Math was always As because it posed the greatest challenge for me. I was always the class cut up being sent to the principals office for debating with the teachers. Bad behavior meant no ap classes. That eventually led to me ditching school and only showing up for tests and still passing but then I was dropped for attendance.

Never went back. Now at the age of 30 (this month) I own a business that does over 1 mill a year in profits and currently have offers from three different trucking companies for a buyout. Busted my a$$ to get here and probably would have been easier with a degree but who knows.

Moral of the story: Get to the bottom of this. Talk with your daughter. Shes obviously very bright she just needs a little guidance. With the level of teaching in todays public schools you could be facing a problem of your daugher being smarter than the teacher and in that case your daughter isnt going to respect the teacher or the institution where she attends. You may just need to keep her challenged any way you can (tutoring etc.). However with bright children it just may have to run its course and let her figure out what she wants.

I have a few friends who had similar problems with high school and experienced similar angst in school. I wish you all the luck in the world my friend it wont be easy....
