it is starting to go downhill.
Our lot is mostly sloping and the hill above us drops a lot of water into our side yard. There are two window wells on that side that are a problem when the soil is saturated, because the water doesn't all drain away from the house.
Thought we had it worked out last night, and it was OK this AM, then something hit critical mass and both window wells started to fill up, and they naturally drain into the basement. I managed to divert the flow and bail them out, so it's OK for the moment.
Fortunately there is a door to the garage in the basement, so worst case is an inch or so before it drains into the garage. But we caught it long before that and sucked it up with a shop vac.
This happens once every 2-3 years and I think I have the drainage sorted out, but it always comes back to get me.
