I don't usually pay attention to it, but it says something about the engineering behind the engine and drivetrain if it can't beat the old 9000 Aero or Viggen with over 50 more HP (much more than that actually if you take into consideration the torque limits in 1st/2nd gears on said cars) and a significant boost in traction.
You are right, Saab's strong suit has always been highway acceleration. But adding AWD (weight/drivetrain loss) will only slow that down, and if they can't even beat the 0-60 times of previous cars, I hate to think of what the highway #'s look like.
Hopefully they are just conservative. Based on #'s I'd say this should be 5.5s 0-60 or faster.
Hopefully they can keep the weight down on this car as well.
I am however, super excited to see this car come out, and will be at my dealer to test drive ASAP! Maybe it's time to do a Euro delivery... :)
