Our office is getting a 52 inch Samsung Plasma TV for our conference room so we can do Powerpoint presentations on it. It will have a cable hookup for CNN/CNBC financial news stations and a Dell computer will be dedicated to that screen for our meetings with Powerpoint presentations.
I know just enough to know that the resolution of the signal from cable TV is different from the resolution driven by a computer. What video card should I specify for the Dell box to get a signal that is closest to a cable TV signal to avoid any distortion? I believe there is an aspect ratio issue that is worse with certain screen sizes (thus we are using the 52 inch with a native resolution of 1920 X 1080), and then a pixel size issue that is managed by the video card in the computer. I think.
The goal is to avoid our PowerPoint presentations from having a stretched or otherwise distorted look, and still have a functioning TV. Any help/advice from you audio visual experts out there is much appreciated.
