You will soon be asked to provide Notarized copies of both yours and your wife's signature, as well as any other family members (older children maybe) who who included on the account.
Hang in there. Your case is playing out exactly as ours did 5 years ago. Our end result was that we did not have to pay anything, but it took many months to get to that point. Pay careful attention to any documents/correspondance you receive in regards to this matter as there may be specific due dates by which you must reply.
