Rule No. 1 -- never clean a coin. It diminishes the value tremendously.
There are professional coin grading services (e.g., PCGS) that can help you establish a value for the coin based on its condition and, of course, current market conditions fo ancient Indian coins.
Don't just take them to the nearest coin dealer because I will guarantee you the guy probably has never seen the coins you have. And there are, of course, low ballers who will try to 'steal' them from you. MSP is big enough that there will be large coin shows a few times a year. You might take some to the show for evaluations by professionals. And the American Numismatic Association (ANA) might have a listing of people who deal in the coins you have.
