right. No handouts, IMHO.
I think the Big 2.5 need a loan deal (like Chrysler had in the early '80s), and it should come with some strings, like a focus on developing fuel efficient cars, more efficient manufacturing, renegotiating union deals, cuts in exec pay, firing empty suits, etc.
GM is between a rock, a hard place, and the edge of a cliff. Ford ain't a whole lot better. Chrysler is a joke.
The upstream and downstream ramifications of these companies failing is too great. It will get fixed, but it's gotta be a loan.
Just my $0.02.
