I was supposed to go out of town today. Continental cancelled my flight yesterday because of severe weather in NY metropolitan area so I am leaving tomorrow. Capital One called me this morning suspecting my credit card has been hacked into (three times in the last four years). Indeed it was after going over recent transactions. Some crook used my credit card to fill a pay as you go cell phone plan three days in a rwo for $50 some each day yapping away on the cell phone. He then went on line shopping at Abercrombie. Spent $250 some. I wonder where he is going to send the merchandize. Certainly not my home address.

The new card they will be sending me obviously is not going to get to my house tomorrow so I need to use another card.

There is a problem because I only find out after the phone call other than AM/Ex, which is very unpopular, I have no other credit card. I do have my BOA bank card. It has Visa printed on the front but is a debit card. Will merchants accept it just as they do Visa credit card?

Incidentally the Capital One call center has been moved closer to home. Guess some industries found maintaining a call center in Mumbai is getting more expensive. The Capital One call center rep has an accent but not an Indian one. At the end of the conversation I asked him where is he located. He said he is in Canada and he is from Romania.
