It's 20 years since I was there (Cairo) so it might have changed but it was dirty, noisy, hot, humid and hard to find any good restaurants if you didn't know exactly where to go.

Very few cab drivers spoke English so we had to learn few words in Arabic very quickly to get anywhere.

Still, it was a fantastic feeling to be standing by the Sphinx and Pyramids (if you are into that) thinking about the 1000th of years gone by. So I don't mind doing it but would not do it again since it is so many other places in the world to travel to.
I would also not choose China or India as travel places even though I haven't been there.
