I read a press release that indicated Saab was involved in the same development program that produced the Volvo Recharge. Imho, this is the future and I suspect progress in this direction will increase sans-GM.

Realistically, I'd be surprised if Koenigsegg will have much impact on Saab product development (beyond the big picture) - Saab already has competent engineering capability that is well acquainted with it's market segment. Short term design changes are more likely to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. What Koengisegg will hopefully bring is greater flexibility to let Saab be Saab + cultivate a stronger image + product line.

Last point I'd make is, everything is built to a price, even a CCX. Like any other business, they do need to turn a profit, and on low sales numbers they need a big margin (and have no bulk buying power)! Think about how much it would cost for a team of 45 people to manufacture 18 SPGs a year from mostly custom parts! Granted, it's a very different situation than making Hondas, but still it needs a bottom line to succeed...

I'm actually really optimistic about the fit + the future.
