I've been driving and maintaining my own Saab's for 42 years. My bias and opinion come from that.

Years ago Craftsman made good tools with a lifetime warranty. After 30 years I finally cracked the head on my 1/2" drive breaker bar; Sears gave me a new one without blinking/no questions. I do not believe that Craftsman offers the same level of quality anymore so I've moved on.

Now, I use S-K, Matco and SnapOn. I haven't noticed that any one of these jumps out quality-wise; they're all very good. Although, SnapOn is pricey; Matco appears to be just as good.

Good quality tools are expensive but if you're going to wrench with your wench you'll know why you spent the extra money years later. And if you crack a socket S-K, Matco and SnapOn will simply give you a replacement.

If someone at a flea market offers you an unknown brand set of 20 sockets for $9.95 there's a reason; they disintegrate after one use.
