2 big things define saabnesss to me:
Saab design + ergonomics focus on simplicity, whereas most others just add more features/stuff. Simplicity = beauty + ease of use... why is this not an easy sell?!?
Saab has historically been innovative either as early adopters of technologies (turbos) or developers of technologies (SAHR, etc). Actually SAHR combines both simplicity + innovation (eg vs other electronic systems to do the same thing that did not always work!). I guess the same could be said about turbos.
In engineering, elegance is the highest attribute of a design. Saab, better than anyone else it seems, gets that. That is what makes saabness.
So in the future, I hope to see elegant engineering solutions to modern problems. Turbos were a cutting edge solution 30 years ago. Now nearly every Ford GM + Hyundai econobox will have one. I think there is an elegant hybrid solution in the works at SAAB, and that is gonna be killer!
